As part of my commitment to create daily, I have been working on a new project that will get underway very soon. All of the details aren’t finalised yet but I will be interviewing people who I find inspiring in the form of a podcast. I feel like it was only a matter of time given my addiction to The Tim Ferriss Show, Freakonomics Radio and The James Altucher Show. So after a little help with today’s topic, here are my 7 Dream Interview Guests.

Nas

It would be impossible for me to start this list without Nas. As soon as the subject of dream interviews came up, this was the name that popped in my head. In all honesty, this interview would end up being 12 hours+ if nobody stopped it. The opportunity to geek out and break down a catalogue spanning the last 25 years would be unreal. Without a doubt one of the most intelligent lyricists in music with an incredible history, this would be top of my list.

Pharrell Williams

The Neptunes, N.E.R.D., getting his start in music with Teddy Riley, Billionaire Boys Club, Ice Cream, the list goes on. With so many accomplishments in both music and fashion, this is another conversation that could go on forever. I’d be hard pressed to pick someone who has influenced both Streetwear and the Billboard charts the way this man has. He’s worked with everyone from Hanz Zimmer to Justin Timberlake, Nigo to Kendrick Lamar and still continues to create at such a high-level today.

Tim Ferriss

My first introduction to Tim Ferriss was, much like most people’s, through his best seller The Four Hour Workweek and I’ve been following what he does ever since. His ideas about skill acquisition, productivity and his relentless experimentation make him one very interesting storyteller. Add to that one of the most successful podcasts on iTunes and a bunch of startup investing and I believe there would be great conversations to be had.

Seth Godin

In addition to numerous books, Seth blogs daily about making art, taking risks and building a career and life outside of the traditional idea of a 9 to 5. I’m well on my way to having read all of his books and owe a large part of my outlook on work and business to Godin. His insights are unmatched and he never fails to amaze me with his work.

Jeff Ng (jeffstaple)

Apparently Getty images don’t have a picture of Jeff Ng anywhere. Regardless this guy is one the biggest names in streetwear. Staple Pigeon has become… (a staple?)  synonymous with New York fashion and design, creating some incredible work. If I could pick a personal mentor in the fashion space it would be this man.

Rob Dyrdek

Pro Skateboarder turned serial entrepreneur, Rob Dyrdek would definitely have some amazing stories to share. With three hit TV shows under his belt and the energy of a toddler buzzed up on sugar, I’m sure this would be an incredibly fun conversation.

Kobe Bryant

5x NBA champion, 2x Finals MVP, 1x Regular Season MVP and an 18 time All Star, Kobe Bryant is widely considered one of the greatest players of all time and is definitely in the top five of my generation. As a Lakers fan, I’ve watched endless highlights and interviews of Kobe and would relish the chance to sit down face to face with one of the greatest competitors there has ever been.

This list could have been so much longer but I decided to limit it to one or two people from each industry I follow for the sake of my sanity. Maybe one day a chance will present itself to interview one of the people mentioned above (anybody got Kobe on speed dial?) You never know. Please share your thoughts, comments and I’d love to hear who you would interview given the opportunity.
