This post marks 4 weeks of writing daily on this blog. Something that I had never done before but knew that if I made a commitment I could do.

I bet on myself.

The topic of this post is one of setting goals and self-belief. Either thing on its own doesn’t set you up for the best chance at succeeding. Goals without belief are likely to be unmet due to a decline in enthusiasm or

Goals without belief are likely to be unmet due to a decline in enthusiasm or conviction.

Belief without goals means a lot of bravado and not a lot of shit getting done (see: The Charlatan in this piece Hype vs Substance).

Setting a goal/s and having the belief that you can stick to it will likely mean success. A goal gives you a target to aim for whiles the self-belief gives you the bottle to actually follow through with it.

Looking back, I think a lotĀ of things I didn’t end up doing was due to a lack of one of these two things. A music project had no real goal, a business venture I had a lot of doubts or little self-belief.

Today I am certain that I am betting on myself. Are you?
