Crushing it is when you feel invincible, like everything you touch turns to gold.
It is when we feel at the height of our powers.
We’ve all had our moments when everything just feels like it is going right and we are used to giving the praise to ourselves.
Then we stumble.
Stumbling is inevitable. Missing the target, losing the game, failing. They all happen to everyone at some point.
We are pretty good at blaming ourselves too. We think about how it could have gone differently, what we should have done instead.
Self-congratulations and self-blame are two sides of the same coin. They are ego-driven reactions to external events.
There is no lesson here, just a reminder that we can only control ourselves, our actions, reactions and the story we tell ourselves. If you’re on top of the world or at your lowest point the same is true in both cases.
